Mandarin fruit peels are used to make three different Mandarin oils, Yellow, Red, and Green. The oil produced depends on the ripeness of the fruit. Green is pressed while the fruit is still young and green, Red is pressed when the fruit has completely ripened, and Yellow is pressed when the fruit is in the middle of the ripening stages. Red Mandarin oil's aroma is very sweet and faintly floral, much like orange blossoms. In perfumery, Red Mandarin oil provides a sweet, fresh, fruity note to any blend. It blends great Myrrh.
