Orange Oil, Dark Belize is the newest fruit of Dr. Pappas' travels. Native orange trees growing in the rich soils of Belize have provided a darker orange oil. The aldehyde content is higher than even our Sweet Orange from Portugal. Like any quality sweet orange the aroma is delicious and similar to fresh sliced fruit. But there are unique candy-like nuances that add another complex dimension to an already wonderful staple. Although the color is MUCH darker than most orange oil our quality team agrees it is a beautiful deep brownish red like a Belizean summer sunset. The magnificent aroma is attributed to the high content of oxygenated compounds in this oil, the result of extraction from darker fully ripe fruits. Although this a machine pressed oil as most are, darker citrus oils are indicitive of hand pressed material. Labor cost causes hand pressed oils to be cost prohibitive and the difference in aroma is not significant. Some industry experts argue the aroma is fresher. This dark orange from Belize has an attractive fresh note but we attribute it to the ripeness of the biomass used. Request a free sample and compare to other oranges on a blotter. EOU has an exclusive on this material.
