Common gromwell it is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Boraginaceae family. The root is highly developed, leaving a few to 1m. high, erect, highly branched stems. The leaves are lanceolate, with lateral lateral veins. The flowers are small. The walnuts are bluish-brown, very smooth, glossy. Blooms in April - August.
