Common speedwell Veronica officinalis L.

Common speedwell is a perennial herbaceous plant of the family Scrophulariaceae. The rhizome is sliding, rooted with upright colored twigs. The leaves are hairy, back and broad-eyed or elliptical, with short handles, finely serrated, fibrous. Inflorescences are dense, single, glandular-fibrous, coming out of the bosom of one of the two opposite leaves. The crown is light blue with a purple hue. The weevil is a glandular fibrous, very seminal box. Blooms in the second half of the spring and the first half of the summer. The whole plant has a bitter and tropical taste.

In Bulgaria we meet in the woody wetlands and bushes quite often in the whole country up to 2000 m above sea level.

The overhead part of the plant (Herba Veronicae) is used. Piscking - June through July, cutting off the entire overhead part of the plant during flowering. Selecting sunshine is selected for picking.

In folk medicine as a remedy against respiratory disease - against coughing, against skin wounds, for fresh purulent wounds, wounds of burns and boils, etc.
