Namibian Myrrh, traditionally known as Omumbiri, has been used for many years as a traditional perfume by the Himba women of the Namib Desert.
To produce Namibian Myrrh essential oil, the resin the plant secretes is steam distilled. This produces an essential oil with a clean and earthy smell.
Namibian Myrrh is both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It helps fight skin infections such as athlete’s foot, weeping eczema, bedsores, acne and boils. It is also excellent for oral health when used as a mouthwash or applied to the teeth and gums.
Being high in antioxidants, Namibian myrrh oil is very beneficial to the skin. For optimal results in the treatment of skin, it should be added to a hot bath or be massaged into the skin.
